Dr. R. G. Boeyink, age 71, of Sioux Center, IA, passed away Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at his home in Sioux Center, IA.

Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 12, 2018 at Central Reformed Church in Sioux Center, IA with Rev. Van Rathbun officiating. Burial will take place at a later date.

Visitation will be Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at Central Reformed Church in Sioux Center.

In lieu of flowers family wish memorials to be directed to the Sioux Center Athletic Boosters.

Dr. RG Boeyink passed away peacefully at home January 30th, 2018 in Sioux Center, Iowa. He was 71.
RG was born September 26th, 1946 in Sioux Center, to Mr. Gerrit and Mrs. Jane Eva Boeyink. His First home was a farm two miles west of Sioux Center. He attended Sioux Center High School where he excelled at baseball and basketball. After high school he attended Central College in Pella, IA, on a basketball scholarship. It was there that RG married his high school sweetheart, Lynn, completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and was given the Mentick Award for leadership in basketball his senior year at Central.
After completing his Master’s Degree in Biology at Northern Illinois University, RG was accepted to the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in Iowa City, IA. After earning his DDS degree, he moved his family back to Sioux Center in 1978. RG practice dentistry with Dr. Bill Estes of Sioux Center for 28 years until he retired in 2006. In 2011, he lost his wife, Lynn, to cancer at the age of 63.
RG will be missed by many, those of the Sioux Center community as well as family and friends.
Those who are left to cherish his memory are his sons, Dr. Timothy Boeyink and his wife Sandi of Denver, CO; Charlie Boeyink and his wife Sheri of Phoenix, AZ. RG was blessed with three precious grandchildren: Trey Boeyink (20), Luke Boeyink (17) and Brynn Boeyink (15) all of Denver, CO; brother, Gary Boeyink of Pella, IA; sisters, Sharon of Hospers, IA and Jeri of Oklahoma; nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
