Wendee Losses Her Fight for life.

Wendee Jean Leafstedt, 16 year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Don Leafstedt, lost her long fight for life and died at the Hawarden Hospital Sunday evening, May 18, 1969. Her funeral was held before a large audience of mourners Wednesday afternoon at the Associated Church with Reverend Herbert Young officiating.

Burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery under the direction of Dow Funeral Home.

Mrs. Hal Shoemaker sang "My God and I" and "The Lord's Prayer." The West Sioux High School's 24 Singers sang "The Lord Bless You and Keep You". Wendee was a member of the 24 Singers.

Casket bearers included James Scott, Randy De Wall, Craig Reaves, Scott Otis, Kirk Frank, and Richard Kratochvil.

Wendee was born June 2, 1952, in Sioux City, Iowa. She attended West Sioux High School where she was a member of the Future Homemakers of America and the Pep Club. She was also a member of the Associated Church and Tuxis Club of the Church.

Besides her parents, she is survived by her brother, Kirk, at home, and her grandmother, Mrs. H. C. Scott of Hawarden.
