Mrs. Ella “Aaltje" Landhuis, nee Ella Te Grootenhuis, daughter of Reverend and Mrs. Te Grootenhuis, was born in the Netherlands on January 6, 1871.

After coming to America, she was united in holy marriage to Mr. Jan Landhuis at Hospers, Iowa. Mrs. Landhuis had been a member of the First Reformed Church in Boyden, Iowa since 1944. She had been a widow for many years as her husband died in 1930.

For the past four and a half years she had made her home in a rest home in Rock Rapids, Iowa. Her health had been fairly good through the years. However during the past few weeks there had been signs of failing health. She was taken to the hospital in Rock Rapids. She passed away quietly to her eternal reward on April 24, 1962, having reached the age of 91 years, three months and 18 days.

Mrs. Landhuis is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Alida Rensink; one granddaughter, Mrs. Julius Damstra, and one great-granddaughter. There are also other relatives, plus many friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, April 28, 1962, at 1:30 P.M. from the Little Chapel in Sioux Center, Iowa. Reverend Henry Schoon officiated. Burial was in the Hospers Cemetery, under the direction of the Co-operative Funeral Service of Sioux Center.
