Mr. Dick La Fleur

Mr. Dick La Fleur passed away September 2 at three a.m. at the home of his son, Bert, at Newton, New Jersey. Death was due to hardening of the arteries and heart trouble.

Dick La Fleur was born in Friesland on December 17, 1866.

He came to America as a young man and settled in Paterson, New Jersey and then came to Orange City and married Effie Vander Tuig who preceded him in death 12 years ago.

They farmed near Carnes, Sheldon and later moved to Crookston, Minnesota. From there they moved back to Orange City and lived on an acreage where Mrs. La Fleur passed away.

Since then Mr. La Fleur made his home with his son, Bert, at Newton, New Jersey.

Surviving him are his children, Sipp of Orange City, Gerrit of Midland Park, New Jersey, William of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Coba, Mrs. Henry Bremer, of Battle Creek, Michigan, Nellie, Mrs. Steve De Jager, of Hancock, Minnesota, Mike of Artesia, California, Bert of Newton, New Jersey, Anna, Mrs. Sam Plowman, of Vienna, New Jersey and Ernie of Newton, New Jersey. A son, Nick, passed away in 1926.

Other survivors are two brothers of Whitinsville, Massachutes, and 37 grandchildren and 8 great- grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held today, Thursday, at 1:30 at the First Christian Reformed Church.
