Mrs. Ellis Hilton died at her home in Ireton last Thursday after an illness of only a short time. Her maiden name was Carrie Ellen Lumbers and she was born June 1, 1868, at Cadiz, Wis. On Sept. 27, 1887, she was united in marriage to Ellis Hilton at Monroe, Wis. Seven children were born to them, five of whom are still living. The children are Clarence, Clara, Grace, Anna and Blanche. Mr. and Mrs. Hilton came to Sioux county a number of years ago and settled on a farm in Eagle township. For the past seven or eight years they have been residents of Ireton. The funeral was held Saturday at the M. E. church and the services conducted by Rev. Geo. McDowell. The sympathy of all is extended to the bereaved family.
