Services held Monday for Evert Bouman
Funeral services were held Monday for Evert Bouman, 66, at 1:00 in the home and 1:30 at the Porter Funeral Home, who died Thursday at his home in Rock Valley. Rev Henry Poppen officiated with Porter Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Interment was at Hillside Cemetery, Lester, Iowa.
Evert Bouman, was born August 28, 1897 in the Netherlands. Mr. Bouman came to America 1920 and settled in the Alvord community, later retiring and making his home in Rock Valley. He had been employed by the County until his death.
Survivors include one sister, Jannetje Jansen of the Netherlands; four brothers, Walter of Orange City, Gradus of the. Netherlands, William of Castlewood, S. D. and Henry of Rock Valley, He was preceded in death by both parents, 1 brother and 2 sisters.
Pallbearers were John Van Dokkemburg, Henry Bosch, William Van Ginkel, George Middle, Gerrit Brands, and John Vander Sanden.
