John Christian Korver, son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin and Jennie (Mouw) Korver passed away in a local hospital Tuesday at 9:50 A.M. He was a sufferer for many years with a blood disease and became ill with the flu a week ago Monday suffering embolism in the leg Friday which resulted in his death.

He was born on a farm north of Alton on August 27, 1916 and lived all his life in this community. He was a graduate of N.W.C.A., graduating from N.W. Jr. College in the Spring of 1940 after which he worked for the Sioux Oil Company for 9 months. He began work in the A.A.A. office in September 1941 which work he was engaged in at the time he was taken ill.

He was a faithful member of the First Reformed Church, a member of the Sunday School and Treasurer of the C.E. Society. John had a pleasing personality and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Surviving him are his parents, two sisters and five brothers. They are: Martinna, Mrs. Anthony Muilenburg and Mina, Mrs. Gillis Haverdink of Orange City, William Korver of Le Mars, Henry and Arthur Korver of Alton, Myron Korver of Orange City and Simon Korver of Hospers.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 o’clock at the home and 1:30 P.M. at the First Reformed Church at Orange City with the Reverend H. Colenbrander officiating. Interment will be made in the local cemetery.
