Gradus "George" Korver, 67, passed away at his home at Orange City on Saturday morning, April 8, following a two weeks illness of flu and pneumonia. He had not been well for sometime and was unable to get about much on account of an injured hip which he suffered in an auto accident several years ago.

Mr. Korver was born on a farm near Alton, on March 11, 1872 and was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William and Martina (Van Roekel) Korver pioneer settlers.

On December 23, 1896 he was united in marriage to Miss Christina Mouw. The couple settled on a farm northeast of Orange City where they lived until four years ago when they moved to Orange City.

He is survived by his widow and eight children, namely William, Orange City ; Reverend Henry Korver, Los Angels, California; John, Orange City; Minnie, Mrs. Peter Muilenburg, Martina, Mrs. Bernie Muilenburg, both of Sibley; Artha, Mrs. Arie J. Bomgaars, Hospers; Marion and James at home. Other survivors include 17 grandchildren, two brothers, Martin of Alton and Gerrit of Ireton, three sisters, Mrs. John H. Mouw, Edgerton, Minnesota, Mrs. Evert Mouw and Mrs. Dick Reinsma of Orange City.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the home and at 1:30 at the First Reformed Church with Reverend Mr. H. Colenbrander officiating. He was assisted by Reverend Mr. J. G. Brouwer. Interment was made in the Orange City Cemetery.
