Henry Kooi Rites Held Here Friday
Former Implement Man Succumbed Last Friday

Funeral services were held at the First Reformed Church Monday afternoon for Henry Kooi, who died at his home early Friday morning after a short illness.

Dr. H. Colenbrander conducted the rites, and interment was made in Orange City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Arnold De Jong, Milton Van Roekel, Paul Mouw, Arie Kanis, Ring De Jager and John Brink.

Born in Groningen, the Netherlands, July 28, 1868, Mr. Kooi came to the United States alone as a young man of 20 years.

He settled in Orange City shortly after arrival in this country, and was for many years an implement dealer here.

He married Anna Nlemantsverdriet at Orange City March 7, 1902, and to this union there was born one daughter, Vivian, now Mrs. Reverend Henry Nyhof of Fairview, South Dakota.

Survivors other than his wife and daughter are six grandchildren, and a step-brother living in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
