SERVICES HELD AT SANBORN MONDAY FOR JOHN KOLDENHOVEN

Funeral services were held Monday, February 6, at Sanborn for John Koldenhoven, 78, a former resident of Sioux County. He died last Friday as the result of heart trouble and a kidney ailment.

Mr. Koldenhoven was born in Apeldoorn, Netherlands, in 1878. He married Marie Sloppendel in the Netherlands. Several years later, in 1909, they came to the United States and settled in Sioux County.

The Koldenhovens farmed north of Remsen until 1939. They moved from there to Hollandale, Minnesota, where they lived until seven years ago when they moved to Sanborn. Mrs. Koldenhoven passed away about five years ago.

Mr. Koldenhoven is survived by seven children: (Gertie) Mrs. Ed Vande Stoep of Hollandale, Joe of Hollandale, Gerrit of Sanborn, (Lydia) Mrs. William Bos of Hollandale, Richard of Orange City, Ed of Denver, Colorado, and John of Alvin, Texas. There are 35 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted from the First Christian Reformed Church of Sanborn, where Mr. Koldenhoven was a member, Reverend Vander Ark officiating.

Pallbearers were Henry Koldenhoven, John Vander Stoep, Dean Bos, John Bos, Frank VerHey and William Van Meekeren, all of Hollandale.
