IRETON:—Special: Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the Grant township Lutheran church for Carl Wessels, well-known farmer living southwest of Ireton who died at the Hawarden hospital late Tuesday, Nov. 5 following a three-day illness with flu which developed into pneumonia.

Carl was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harm Wessels and was born in Jeevers, Germany, in April 1890. He came to the United. State in 1906 living first near LeMars. On Dec. 12, 1917, he was united in marriage with Louise Beitelspacher who with four sons Alfred, George, Herbert, and Lorenz all at home and one daughter, Mrs. Raymond Nyhof, survive him.
