Mrs. Henry Koerselman passed away at the age of 79 years at the Sioux Center Community Hospital on Tuesday, October 4, 1960, following a short illness.

Kate Roggen was born in The Netherland on August 15, 1881, and at the age of 6 months came to America with her parents (Arie and Alida Swart Roggen) and settled at Alton, Iowa. After several years they moved to the Middleburg vicinity where she grew up to womanhood.

She was united in marriage to Henry Koerselman on January 28, 1904 and has lived in this territory most of her life. In 1949 they moved from the farm to town.

She is survived by her husband and six sons and two daughters: Gerrit of Mason City, Iowa; Alida (Mrs. Albert Caswell) of Hull; Geraldma (Mrs. Richard Rikkers) of Hull; Arie of Sheldon; Clarence of San Mateo, California; Willis of Fort Dodge, Iowa; Orville of Sna Jose, California; Laverne of Greeley, Colorado. She also leaves to mourn two brothers and two sisters: Gerrit of Worthington, Minnesota, John of Sioux Center, Mary (Mrs. Hein Koele) of Hull and Tilly (Mrs. L.H. Lutjens) of Worthington.

Preceding her in death were 2 brothers and two sisters: Martha, Mrs. Henry Geurink; James, Cornelius and Ella.

The funeral service was held Friday, October 7 from the American Reformed Church with Reverend H.C. Ringenoldus officiating. Burial was in Hope Cemetery at Hull.

Pallbearers were six nephews: G.B. Koerselman, Cornie Koerselman, Ed Sneller, Gerald Koele, Wally Lutjens, and Loen Roggen. Arrangements were made by Kraai Funeral Home.
