Mrs. Mabel Koele, 79, of Hull passed away Friday, December 3, at Marian Health Center in Sioux City after a short illness.

Funeral services were Monday, December 6, at the First Christian Reformed Church in Hull with the Reverend Roger Bouwman officiating. Interment followed at Hope Cemetery, Hull.

Mabel Koele was born March 3, 1914, at Prairie View, Kansas, the daughter of Peter and Bertha (Dekker) Soodsma. When she was 11 years old, her family moved to a farm near Doon.

On March 8, 1935, she married Clarence "Bub" Koele in Lyon County. They farmed near Hull until 1974 when they retired and moved into town.

She was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church her entire adult life. She had been very active in both the church and the community.

Survivors include her husband; two sons; two daughters; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters; and a brother.

She was preceded in death by two brothers.
