Funeral services for Mrs. Dick Koele were held Saturday afternoon, October 14, 1967, at the First Reformed Church in Hull, Iowa with her pastor Reverend David Ter Beest officiating with the Kraai Funeral Home of Hull in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were her grandsons, Clifford Koele, Harlan Koele, Bob Koele, Tim Rens, Dowie Mellema and Kenneth Douma.

Special music was a duet, sung by Mrs. Willis Brouwer, Mrs. Harold Koele and Mrs. John Bouma as organist.

Mrs. Koele passed away at the Sioux Center Hospital after a very long illness, at the age of 88 years, 6 months and 9 days.

Mrs. Koele, Mother, Grandmother, and Great- Grandmother, was born at Pella, Iowa on April 2, 1879 to Albert and Marie Synhorst. At the age of 11 years she moved with her parents to a farm northeast of Hull, and spent the rest of her life near and in Hull, Iowa.

Mr. and Mrs. Dick Koele were married on February 11, 1903. Their life was spent on farms in the Hull area until 1941 when they retired to live as residents in Hull.

Mrs. Koele was a member of the First Reformed Church in Hull for 77 years. An active member of the Ladies Missionary Society and later years a member of the Guild for Christian Service.

She is survived by six children: Jennie, Mrs. Chas. Heiliger of Primghar; Bert, Henry, Marie, Mrs. Oscar Douma; Clarence; Madelene, Mrs. Bert Rens, all from Hull; 20 grandchildren and 24 great- grandchildren; two brothers, Gerrit Synhorst of Harrisburg, South Dakota, and William Synhorst of Vancouver, British Columbia.

She was preceded in death by two grandchildren, her parents, two sisters and five brothers.
