Martha Hansmann, 85, of Boyden, died Wednesday evening at Pleasant Acres Care Center in Hall
Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 16, at St. Paul Lutheran Church of rural Hull, the Rev. Gerald Aamot officiated. Burial followed in St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery of rural Hull under the direction of Roste Funeral Home in Rock Rapids.

Martha Marie (Breuer) Hansmann was born Feb. 23, 1915, northeast of Hull, the daughter of J. Heinrich nd Magadalena (Beckman) Breuer. As a young girl, Martha was confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church of Boyden. She grew up on the family farm and attended country school near Hull.

On March 9, 1941, she was united in marriage to Karl Hansmann at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Hull. After their marriage they moved to George and farmed in the George area until moving to Sheldon in 1960. In 1962, Martha and Karl death she continued to live in their home until later moving into an apartment in Boyden. Three and one half weeks ago she suffered a heart attack at which time she was taken to the Sheldon Hospital. On Wednesday, Sept. 13, she moved to the Pleasant Acres Care Center where she died the same day at the age of 85.

Martha enjoyed visiting with family and friends and playing cards. She was a life long Member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Hull, keeping active in church circle and Helping Hands. Martha will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Joan Hansmann and Paul and Rhoda Hansmann, all of Boyden; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one sister Erma (Rudy)Fick of Hull.

She was preceded in death by her parents, . J. Heinrich and Magadalena; her husband Karl; one infant son, Roger Dale; four brothers, Herman, Henry, Emil and Walter Breuer; and two sisters, Katie Tiedemann and Ella Techen
