GERRIT DeKOTER

Funeral services were held at the First Reformed Church in Maurice at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, November 16, for Gerrit DeKoter, 74 of Maurice. who died November 13 at the Sioux Center hospital. Services were conducted by the Rev. Martin Hoekman and burial was made in the Maurice Community cemetery, under the direction of Vander Ploeg's Funeral home of Sioux Center.

Mr. DeKoter was born April 3, 1894, in the Netherlands. He was married to Cornelia Drooger March 5, 1919, in the Netherlands. He came to the U. S. in 1921 and had since lived in the Maurice area.

Survivors include his widow; three sons, William of Orange City, Arthur and Peter of Maurice; two daughters, Mrs. Herman Van Donkelaar of Sioux Center and Mrs. Melvin Gearhart of San Francisco; a brother, Neal, of Orange City; and other brothers and sisters in the Netherlands. He is also survived by 23 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
