Mrs. C. Groen dies Saturday after long illness

Mrs. Clarence Groen, 40, a lifelong resident of Hudson, S. D., died Saturday night at a Hudson hospital following a long illness.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p. m. Tuesday at the Porter funeral home; Rock Valley. Rev J. Van Zweden officiated. Burial was in the Valley View cemetery at Rock Valley.

Mrs. Groen was born December 3, 1922, near Hudson and lived there all her life.

Survivors include the widower, a daughter, Mrs. John G. Maassen of Hudson; two sons, Dean and Curtis, both of Hudson; the mother, Mrs. Joe Groeneweg of Rock Valley, three sisters, Mrs. J. A. Hoogendoorn
of Rock Valley and Mrs. Bert Ver Burg and Mrs. John Groen, both of Inwood and a brother, Paul J. Groeneweg of Rock Valley.

Pallbearers were Gilbert Hoogendoorn, Arvin Hoogendobrn, Floyd Davelaar, Robert Ver Burg, Wayne Groeneweg, and Thomas Van Holland.
