RITES SATURDAY AT GRANVILLE FOR JACOB B. KLEIN

Funeral services ere held at St. Joseph Church, Granville on Saturday morning at 9:00 o’clock for Jacob B. Klein, age 74, who passed away at his home north west of Granville on Wednesday morning at 11 o’clock after a month’s illness.

Jacob Klein was born January 21, 1874, in Chicago, Illinois, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Nick Klein, he moved with his parents to a farm south west of Granville and has resided near here for the past 50 years.

On February 4, 1902 he was married to Miss Cecelia Goebel at St. Joseph Church.

To this union were born nine children, who with the wives survive, namely: Nick, Leo, and Agnes at home, Henry, Lawrence, (Anna) Mrs. Ed Jenning, (Marion) Mrs. Jule Penning, all residing near Granville, and Sister M. Oda and Sister M. Tresain of Dubuque, 17 grandchildren, and five brothers: Peter and Henry of Granville, Father L.M. Klein of Wesley, Iowa, John and Joe of Dell Rapids, South Dakota.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.

Burial will be made in St. Joseph Cemetery, under the direction of Wiltgen’s Funeral Home of Le Mars.

Among relatives attending from a distance were, Reverend Lawrence Klein, Wesley, Sister M. Oda and Sister M. Tresain of Dubuque, Iowa, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Klein, Mr. and Mrs. John Klein of Dell Rapids, South Dakota, Mrs. Martha Wernke, Mrs. Earnest Goebel and son Ray of Luxemburg, Mrs. Jim Sherman of East Dubuque, Illinois, Mr. and Mrs. Clet Their, of Dyersville, and many others from near by towns.
