John Klein, 82, of Hospers died Sunday, August 16, at a hospital in Sheldon.

Services were at 10 A.M. Wednesday at the St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Hospers. The Reverend Francis Nemmers officiated. Burial was in St. Anthony’s Cemetery under the direction of the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home of Sioux Center. The Rosary was recited at 7 and 8 P.M. Tuesday at the Fellowship Hall of the Church.

Mr. Klein was born April 20, 1899, in Mendota, Illinois. He married Bernadette Holles, February 22, 1933, in Granville. They famed near Hospers until 1966 when they retired and moved to town. Mrs. Klein died in 1968.

Survivors include eight daughters: Mrs. Delbert (Josephine) Dittman of Waukon, Mrs. Eleanor Jungers of Hospers, Mrs. John (Marie) Luke of Marion, South Dakota, Mrs. Paul (Bernice) Schwebach of Waterloo, Mrs. Larry (Marge) Huygens of Sioux Center, Mrs. Benny (Charlotte) Hardin of Primghar and Mrs. Larry (Theresa) Gathman of Rock Rapids; 33 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Peter, William, and Lawrence, all of Hospers; and a sister, Mrs. Roger (Mary) Stremlau of Mendota.
