From the Alton Democrat, June 4, 1926, Boyden news:

Mr. and Mrs. Schoeneman living northwest of Boyden were laid to rest in the German cemetery Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Schoeneman died Thursday and Mr. Schoeneman died Friday night. Both were in the seventies and had been failing in health for some time, but refused to have medical attention. They lived alone and except for distant cousins their few relatives are still living in Germany. Kind friends gave them their last attentions and followed them to the grave in company with the Schoeneman and Chris Hollander families who are distant cousins. What a happy ending to a life spent together, to be taken into eternity at the same time.
