Matt. Haupert Pioneer Granville Farmer passes on.
Funeral services were held in S t . Joseph's church, Granville Wednesday morning at ten o'clock for Matt Haupert, well known farmer who died at his home Monday, Sept. 16 at 4:30 after an illness of long duration.

Matthew Haupert was born Feb. 11, 1865 in eastern Iowa and moved with his parents to a farm 4 miles southwest of Granville while he was still a small child. He lived all his remaining life on the same farm. After the death of Mrs. Haupert, two daughters, Clarinda and Mary remained on the home place with their father.

Surviving are three sons and 7 daughters, namely: Nick, Granville, Mrs. Fay (Margaret) Caspar of Rock Valley; Mary, Mrs. Chris Portz, (Rose), of Granville; Jake , Alton; Mrs. Wm. Stallman (Cecelia), New Cambria, Mo.; Mrs. Ben (Olivia ) , Stallman, Independence, Mo.; Lawrence, Pipestone, Minn.; Mrs. Ray (Clarinda) Portz and Mrs. Frank (Saverna ) Spieler, Granville; and by one sister, Mrs. Mike Ernster of Sisseton, S. D . who is the only surviving member of the family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nick Haupert, by two sisters, one brother, and his wife.

Interment was made in St. Joseph's cemetery. All of the children and their families and many other relatives and friends attended the services Wednesday.
