Miss Christine M. Klein, 88, of Alton, died Saturday in the Orange City Municipal Hospital after a long illness.

Services were at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton, Monsignor Nicholas Ruba officiated. Burial was in the parish cemetery under the direction of the Fisch Funeral Home of Remsen.

Miss Klein was born April 3, 1898 in rural Alton. She was raised in the Alton area and graduated from St. Mary’s High School.

She owned and operated the Klein Beauty Shop in Alton for a number of years and also worked for Dr. C.B. Murphy of Alton from 1939 until retiring in 1970.

Miss Klein was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Church Guild, and Rosary Society.

Survivors include a brother, Raymond and a sister, Mrs. Joe (Sylvina) Schaul, both of Alton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Klein (Mary Haupert) four brothers and five sisters.
