SAVERNA KETTLER FOLLOWS HER FATHER BEYOND

One week after the funeral of her father, the late Bernard Kettler, Miss Saverna Kettler of Homer, Nebraska, passed on suddenly late Tuesday afternoon. Although unable to attend her father’s funeral she had apparently recovered and her sudden passing was a great shock to her sisters and brothers, who have the sincere sympathy of their hundreds of Alton friends in this second bereavement.

Saverna was born in Alton on April 14, 1905, and lived here until nine years ago when she accompanied her father to Homer, where both made their home with their devoted sister and daughter, Mrs. Albert Probst. She and her father were inseparable companions and she passed on to join him just nine days after he left this earth.

The Funeral Mass will be at Homer Catholic Church Thursday morning at eight o’clock and burial will be in here at St. Mary’s Cemetery at 10:45 the same morning.

Many old time friends of Mr. Kettler were here for the services at the grave last Tuesday including Mr. and Mrs. Harold Kirwin, James Tighe, Margaret Murphy, all of Homer; Neil O’Connor of Omaha, Carl Wolbers and Kathryn Hughes of Sheldon, Mr. and Mrs. Barney Koob, Mr. and Mrs. J. Hodapp of Granville; Mrs. A.J. Braig of Ashton; Mrs. Lou Fritz, Mr. and Mrs. Jake Fath and John Fath of Lismore, all of whom called at the O.P. Kettler home after the services, besides many more from neighboring towns.
