Sad Death of Young Mother---Mrs. Henry Kempers, Mother of four, passes on after short illness

Mrs. Henry Kempers, aged 32, passed away Monday evening, March 17th, at 8:30 o’clock after a ten days illness.

She first had an attack of measles from which she recovered and then caught the scarlet fever, but had successfully fought that disease also, when blood poison set in and took her life.

Jennie Geels was born October l9th, 1892 at Orange City, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chris Geels.

She was married to Henry Kempers at Orange City on January 29, 1912.

Four children were born to them, all of whom survive their mother, Leoan, aged 7; Alvena and Alvina, twins, aged 6; and Kenneth, aged 8 months.

The three elder children have been taken by their aunt, Mrs. Fannie Schipper of Steen, Minnesota. The bereaved husband and baby will stay at the Henry Geurink place.

Funeral services were conducted on Thursday afternoon by Reverend W.P. Van Wyke of the Second Christian Reformed Church at Orange City. Burial took place on Tuesday afternoon at the Orange City Cemetery.

Besides the parents and family, one full brother, Chris Geels Jr. and one sister, Mrs. Schipper of Steen, survive.

The sorrowing relatives have the sympathy of their many friends.
