This community was terribly shocked on last Thursday noon when word was flashed over the telephone that the little baby boy of Mr. and Mrs. Lew Morris had drowned by falling in the water tank. It was only in the tank a few minutes and medical help was summoned at once and every restorative known to science was quickly applied but all to no avail. He had been playing with the other children in the yard and wandered away from them without them being conscious of it. He was born Sept. 29th, 1911, and was a very strong and beautiful child. The sympathy of the entire community go out to Mr. and Mrs. Morris in their deep bereavement. Mrs. Frost of Hawarden, mother of Mrs. Morris, and her sister and husband of Beresford, S.D., came at once and remained till the funeral was over. The funeral was held from the home, six miles southwest of town, Saturday morning and was in charge of Rev. Mark Masters. The floral offerings were abundant and beautiful.
