J. Hofs, who has been ill for some time at the C. Sinnema home, died on Tuesday at the age of seventy-one years. Deceased was born in the Netherlands. Twenty-seven years ago the family came to this country and settled near Sioux Center. Deceased lost his wife thirteen years ago. The surviving children are Mrs. F. Cleveringa of Carmel, Mrs. M. Vrijhof residing in Holland, John Hofs of Hull and Cornelius Hofs of Sioux Center. The funeral took place on Thursday afternoon at Sioux Center, the services being conducted by Rev. A. W. De Jonge of Hull and Rev. Lubbers of Sioux Center.
