DEATH DUE TO TYPHOID FEVER MYRTLE ANDERSON DIED LAST THURSDAY AFTERNOON TEACHING STAFF RE-ELECTED

Epidemic Claims 14-Year-Old Girl Who Had Been in Ill Health Since Last September

Miss Myrtle Anderson passed away about 3 o'clock last Thursday afternoon at her home from typhoid fever. She had never enjoyed rugged health and shortly after the flood last September she was taken ill and was compelled to leave school. When it was discovered that she had contracted typhoid fever a trained nurse was put in charge in order that she might receive the best of care but owing to her weakened condition she was unable to throw off the typhoid infection.

Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon at the home and at 2:30 at the Associated church with Rev. Chas. E. Tower, the pastor, in charge. Interment was made in Grace Hill Cemetery.

Myrtle Anderson was the second child of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Anderson and was born in this city Aug. 2, 1912, and so was but 14 years, 7 months and-22 days old at her untimely death. All her life was spent in Hawarden and she attended the Hawarden public schools and was a student in the sixth grade when she was taken ill last September. Although she never enjoyed good health she always looked on the bright side of life and was adored by all who knew her for her kindly disposition. She was a member of the Associated Sunday school and will be greatly missed by her young companions of both the church and school.

Besides her parents, she is survived by three brothers, Norman, Leland and Kenneth and one sister, Dorothy. Sincere sympathy is extended to the family in their bereavement.
