Clarence J. Keegan, 83, of Rock Valley died Saturday, November 16, in a Sioux City Hospital.

Services were held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Rock Valley. The Reverend William Wingert officiated. Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery. The rosary was Tuesday in the Porter Funeral Home in Rock Valley.

Clarence was the son of Mr. and Mrs. James and Kathryn (O'Meara) Keegan and was born December 14, 1901, in Rock Valley. He attended rural schools and graduated from St. Mary’s High School. He married Elvira Schemmer February 8, 1928, in Rock Valley. They farmed near Inwood and later at Rock Valley. He retired from farming in 1966 and then worked as a greens keeper at the Rock Valley Golf Course for several years, later was custodian at St. Mary’s Catholic Church for several years. Mrs. Keegan died May 22, 1981. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Survivors include three sons, Robert of Davenport, James W. of New Delhi, India and Michael C. of Reston, Virginia; four daughters, Mary Ellen Keegan of Le Mars, Mrs. Robert (Jane) Richter of Rock Valley, Mrs. James (Helen) Huffington of Madison, Missouri and Mrs. John (Doris) Kersbergen of Naples, Italy; one sister, Mrs. Larry (Arlene) Rimmer of Waterloo; 20 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
