Mrs. H. Woertink Sr. died at her home in Hospers on Sunday December 28th of diabetes, having been a sufferer for some time. Deceased was born in the Netherlands in 1843 and came to America in 1866. The year following she was united in marriage to H. Woertink, in Michigan. In 1876 the family came to Sioux county. Five years ago Mr. Woertink passed away. The funeral services were held on Wednesday from the Reformed church of Hospers and were in charge of Rev. G. H. Douwstra. Interment was made in the Nassau township cemetery, Alton, in the Woertink family lot. Deceased is survived by the following children: Mrs. P. Kones of Castlewood, S.D., William of Estelline, S.D., Mrs. S. Jacobsma of Hospers, Mrs. H. Landhuis of Edgerton, Minn., Henry, Herman, John and Mrs. Lizzie Weis, of Hospers.
