Shirley Lowell Rasmussen, 88, of Sioux City died Friday, September 15, 2017, at a Sioux City hospital.
Private graveside services will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery.  Visitation with the family present will be 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, September 19, 2017, at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel (6200 Morningside Ave.) with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Shirley, the daughter of Charles and Jessie (Dierkson) Hendricks, was born February 17, 1929 in Chatsworth, IA.  She grew up in the Chatsworth/Hawarden area and graduated from Hawarden High School in 1946.
On August 28, 1946, Shirley was united in marriage to Donald Lowell in Hawarden and this union was blessed with four sons, Denny, Steven, Merlyn and Mike.  The family made their home in Sioux City.  Shirley was a homemaker and helped her husband own and operate Wymans Worry.  Donald passed away on November 30, 1968.
On July 25, 1970, Shirley married Wayne Rasmussen in Sioux City.  They continued to operate Wymans Worry until the mid-1970’s.  She then worked at the Community Theater and other part-time jobs.  Wayne passed away on August 31, 2017. 
Shirley enjoyed sewing, painting, crafts, crocheting, crosswords and caring for her cats.  Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Shirley is survived by four sons: Denny (Sue) Lowell, Steven Lowell, Merlyn (Debbie) Lowell and Mike (Stacy) Lowell; 13 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands: Donald L. Lowell and Wayne Rasmussen; one sister, Margaret Small and one brother, Donald Hendricks.
