JOHN W. JUNGERS--PROMINENT HOSPERS CITIZEN, PASSES ON

Funeral services were held Monday at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Hospers for the late John W. Jungers, 85, lifelong resident and highly esteemed citizen of Hospers, who died after an extended illness. Rt. Reverend Msgr. George Theobald officiated at the Requiem Mass.

Mr. Jungers was born at Hospers March 14, 1880, son of Nicholas Jungers and Magdalene Sanem Jungers. He married Rose Becker May 25, 1909, who passed away February 12, 1926. On January 22, 1934, he married Angeline Schaffhausen Jungers, who survives. He was a long time member of the Knights of Columbus.

Three daughters and one son also survive their father, as follows: Mrs. John Huygens, Hospers, Mrs. James Easterly and Mrs. Henry Dugs, both of Lemon Grove, California, Sylvester of Harris, Iowa.

He is also survived by three step-daughters and two step-sons as follows: Mrs. Edwin Jungers of Hospers, Mrs. Ferd Full of Taunton, Minnesota and Mrs. Milo Streff of Alto; Lloyd Schaffhausen of Chicago and Walter Jungers of Minneapolis.

Four sisters and two brothers also survive Mr. Jungers, as follows: Mrs. Peter Weiss, Geneva, Nebraska, Mrs. John Weiss, Shickley, Nebraska, Mrs. Edward Heitzman, Shakopee, Minnesota, Sister Mary Berniece, OSF, Melrose Park, Illinois, Joseph Jungers, Milford, Iowa and Edward Jungers, Des Moines, as well as 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
