Eda Kroon, age 103, of Sioux Center, IA, died Friday, September 22, 2017, at Royale Meadows Care Center in Sioux Center, IA.
    
     Memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, Sept 28th at Central Reformed Church of Sioux Center, IA with Rev. Van Rathbun officiating.
     
     Private family burial will be prior to the service at Memory Gardens Cemetery of Sioux Center.
 
     In lieu of flowers memorial may be directed to the Central Reformed Church of Sioux Center and/or the Sioux Center Library.
 
     Eda Kroon was born on January 7, 1914 in Sioux Center, Iowa to John and Wilhelmina (Scholten) Kroon, the second of nine children. She lived her entire life in Sioux Center, Iowa and died at Royal Meadows Nursing Home on Sept. 22, 2017 at the age of 103.
 
     Eda was Baptized as an infant at Central Reformed Church and was a lifelong member. She was educated in the Sioux Center Public Schools and enjoyed a long career in what was the First National Bank in Sioux Center and was a Vice President at the time of her retirement.
 
     During her life, Eda was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the Sioux Center Chamber of Commerce and the local Hospital Auxiliary, and life member of the hospital board. Eda was a trustee for the local library and a member of the Iowa and National Bank Women’s Association.
 
     Eda enjoyed volunteering and gardening and serving as the matriarch of the Kroon family and keeping everyone connected through the years.
 
     Eda was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers Richard and wife Geraldine, Bert, William and wife Teneva, Bernard and wife Joan and sisters Gertrude Plattner and husband Joseph, Norma Loe and husband Donald.   She is survived by brother Henry and wife Gladys of Neosho, MO. and brother Stanton and wife Marjorie of Burnsville, MN., and many nephews and nieces.
