Geertje (Walter) Jongetjes was born on February 15, 1871, in Harderwijk, Gelderland, Netherlands. She married Hendrik “Henry” Jongetjes on November 15, 1893, in her hometown. They had eight children in 16 years. She died in 1944 in Hull, Iowa, at the age of 73.
