Mrs. Peter Jiskoot died Friday, June 14, at 2:30 P.M. at the home northeast of Alton at the age of 53 years, 5 months, and 14 days after an illness of about 3 years. She died of complications.

Mrs. Dena Jiskoot had a heart ailment for a number of years but lately seemed quite well and was able to get around. Mr. Jiskoot was away when Mrs. Jiskoot had her attack which came so suddenly she fell into her daughter’s arms.

She was born near Alton on January 1, 1887 and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Vrieze. On December 22, 1921 she married Peter Jiskoot of Alton. All her married life she lived near Alton except for 1 year when they lived near Melvin.

She is survived by her widower, her daughter, Dora; two brothers and one sister; William, Gerrit and Grace, Mrs. Herb Lucas, all of Alton; and her aged father and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Jiskoot of Alton.

The funeral services were held Monday at 1 P.M. at the home and 1:30 P.M. at the Alton Reformed Church with Reverend Mr. E. Van Engelenhoven in charge. Interment was made in the Nassau Township Cemetery.
