Edward Jepson, 75, of Hawarden died Friday, July 18, in the Hawarden Hospital. His funeral was held Monday in the First United Methodist Church with Dr. G.S. Bruland officiating. Burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery under the direction of Dow Funeral Home.

Mrs. Don Hummel was organist and Mrs. Rod Wilbeck sang “God a Friend We Have in Jesus.” Casket Bearers were Scott Younie, Vinton Kane, Jeff Richardson, Robert Gaul, Paul Venard, and Lyle McAninach. Honorary bearers were Sam Blair, Glenn Hansen, John Jurgenson, Elmer Ericson, Guy Hodgson, Harley Whittington, Ed Degen, Harry Hodoway, Eldon Ericson, J.E. Tilgner, Harry Swift and Emil Swanson.

Military graveside services were handled by the Hawarden American Legion.

Mr. Jepson was born November 1, 1890, in Rolfe. He married Rosella Frank August 7, 1924, in Jasper, Minnesota. Except for seven years in Storm Lake, the couple had been citizens of Hawarden since 1920. He operated a plumbing and sheet metal business in Hawarden. He was a veteran of World War I and a 50-year member of the American Legion.

Besides his widow, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Perry (Elaine) Heard of Storm Lake and Mrs. Art (Lorna) Stinkey of Sioux Falls; a brother, Charles of Washington, and five grandchildren.
