Anna Marie Dekkers
Anna Marie Dekkers, 86, of Sioux Center, died Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2001 at the Sioux Center Community Hospital. The funeral service was Friday, Aug. 17, at Bethel Christian Reformed Church, Sioux Center with the Rev. Duane Tinklenberg officiating. Interment was in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Sioux Center. Memorial Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Anna Dekkers was born Nov. 23,1914, to Peter and Gertie (Kooi) Haverhals near Lebanon. She attended country school for five years and graduated from Lebanon Christian School. She married Henry Dekkers on Jan. 11, 1939, they farmed near Ireton for 36 years, until retiring to Sioux Center in 1975. She was a member of the Bethel Christian Reformed Church and belonged to the Sunshine Circle. She was a member of the Friendly Visitors at the Sioux Center Community Health Center for many years.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years; two sons, Peter and Howard both of Ireton; daughter Wilhelmina Vandekerk of Bellinghain, Wash.;:six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; five sisters; Grace Dekkers, Gertie Bonneina, Rena Dragstra, Jean Boeve and Adelene Haverhals; two sisters-in-law, FannieHaverhals and Josephine Haverhals. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers,Siebert and Peter; and one infant son.
