Rev. and Mrs. E. H. Gilman living eight miles south of Rock Valley mourn the death of their three-year-old daughter, Esther, who died Sunday, her death being due to scarlet fever. Funeral services were held Monday but owing to the nature of the disease no one could be present but the immediate family and those who had charge of the burial. The remains were buried in the German Lutheran cemetery near the church of which Rev. Gilman is pastor. Four brothers and sisters of the deceased acted as pall bearers and carried the slight form to its last resting place. One of the other children has had the disease and recovered. Rev. and Mrs. Gilman have the heartfelt sympathy of the entire neighborhood where they live.

The Sioux County Cemetery Index has Gilmann, Esther, 1908-1911, ss Walter, buried in Peace Lutheran Cemetery, rural Sioux Center.
Ancestry.com has parents as Emil H. Gillmann 1872-1956 and Emma Sophia Schulz 1875-1949 They had a large family including Walter and Esther who died young.

(See Mrs. Rev. Emil Gillmann, nee Emma Sophia Schulz’s obit for further family details, also. )
