She is presumed to be the wife of William T. Gilbert 1802-1883 also buried in Rock Valley.

It appears that this family of Larry P. Gilbert born 1829 NY and wife Anna Dell born about 1848 NY. Came from Wisconsin in the 1880 census to Sioux County in the early 1880s, then moved on just before 1900 They are not in the 1895 or 1900 census for Rock Township, Sioux County. In the 1885 census L. (Larry) P. Gilbert born in New York was living in Rock Township. His wife was Anna D. (Dell) born 1848 NY and daughter Anna D. age 6 born in WI.

There is a burial for Minerva Gilbert born abt 1908 NY died 1884 believed to be the wife of William T. Gilbert 1801-1883 also buried in Valley View cemetery WPA record only. There is an entry in the cemetery index for a Gilbert, no name in the Valley View cemetery also.

Assumed to be Larry’s father, In the 1870 census William F. Gilbert born 1802 NY and wife Minerva abt 1807 NY were living in Koshkonong, Jefferson Wisconsin. In the 1850 census same place in WI, Larry was found to be Levi Gilbert born New York to Wm. T. Gilbert 48 and Messerble Gilbert age 43 born New York, son Levi Gilbert 21 born N y. and Ann Eliza Gilbert age 19 born New York. I the 1870 census Levi was single a lawyer living in another town in Wisconsin. Then found in the 1900 census of Esculapia, Benton Arkansas Levi Gilbert age 71 born Feb 1829 New York, wife Anna D. age 53 born April 1847 New York and living with them Levi’s sister Eliza A. Gilbert 68 years old born Dec 1831 New York. So the family came to an end when the three Gilberts passed on.
