The funeral of Mr. John E. Gritters who died a t his home in Hull on Tuesday, April 3rd, was held Friday afternoon from the home and from the Christian Reformed church, conducted by Rev. Westra of Middleburg. It was a large funeral, the church being full of sorrowing relatives and friends.

Mr. E. Gritters was born October 31st, 1843, at Diever, Province of Drenthe, Netherlands. On July 2nd, 1870, he was married to Deeltje Kuyper. T o this union eight children were born. The family came to this country and to the immediate vicinity of Hulll, in March, 1896, where Mr. and Mrs. Gritters have made their home ever since.

Besides the faithful and loving wife Mr. Gritters is survived by seven of the children, forty-four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mrs. Thys Post who died recently being the deceased member of the family.
