When Wilhelmina Van Neuren was born on February 25, 1871, in The Netherland, her father, Abram, was 40, and her mother, Maatje, was 32. She married Abraham Jacobs on February 25, 1892. They had six children in 16 years. To this union were born the following: Conrad of Orange City, Ed of Sioux City, John of Alton, May, who died in infancy, Carl of Marshalltown, May (Mrs. James Meester) of Rolling Hills California, and Gerrit of Torrance, California.

Mr. and Mrs. Jacobs came to America in 1863 and settled in the Hospers vicinity where they spent the remainder of their lives.

She died on July 29, 1949, in Hospers, Iowa, at the age of 78, and was buried at Hospers Cemetery, Hospers, Sioux County, Iowa.
