Services held for C.B. Jacobs Tuesday, July 2

Funeral services for Charles B. Jacobs, 70, were held in the Porter Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 2. Reverend Mervin Nelson, pastor of the Methodist Church, officiated.

Special music was by Mrs Ed De Haas and Mrs Paul Dean, vocalists and Mrs Roger Smith, organist. Interment was in Valley View cemetery with Alex Heymen, Edward Schmidt, Raymond Brown, Hessel Roorda, Lee Schlecty and Glen Benson as pallbearers.

Graveside services were conducted by the American Legion and Masonic Lodge.

Mr Jacobs died in Rouyal C. Johnson's Veteran's Hospital, Sioux Falls, Saturday, June 29.

He was born to John and Matie (Bly) Jacobs at Bridgewater, South Dakota, July 23, 1892. He was a engineer for the Milwaukee railroad many years until retiring two years ago.

Mr Jacobs was a veteran of World War I, a member of the American Legion, Golden Sheaf Lodge 605, A.F. and A.M., Sioux City Consistory 5 and Order of Eastern Star of Rock Valley.

Survivors include the widow, Bessie (Tripp) Jacobs, and two sisters, Mrs Robert Manson, Sioux Falls and Mrs Ruth Lemon, Crew, Virginia.
