Mr. Grasman, an old gentleman living with relatives two miles east of town, took sick with pneumonia early last week and passed away Thursday. The funeral was held Saturday afternoon from the Christiana Reformed church, the Rev. Mr. Hollebeck in charge.

NOTE: From a report found on line on ancestry.com (by others) Sijmen ‘Simon’ Bartles Grasman born 2 March 1852 Heeg Friesland Netherlands, died 25 Dec 1912 at Ireton IA. Son of Bartele ‘Bart’ Symens Grasman 1821-1864 and Korneliske Douwes Wynja 1818-1889. He was married 11 May 1876 Menaldumadeel, Friesland Neth., to Hinke Hendriks Bloemhof 1847-1900. Children: Hendrik 1880, Fred 1883, Anna and Kate. He later married Gertie Kingma born 1860. Hinke Bloemhof died 18 Oct 1900 Menaldumadeel, Friesland Neth.
