Evelyn J. Friedman Hawarden Evelyn J. Friedman, 62, of Palm Beach, FL, formerly of Sioux City and
Hawarden, died Wednesday, September 2, 1987, in the Sloan-Kettering Memorial Hospital in New York City after a long illness. Services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 6, in First Baptist Church in Hawarden. Rev. Harley Betzolt officiated. Burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery under direction of Dow Funeral Home in Hawarden. Pallbearers were Dennis Robertson, Roger Newman, Brad Reifler, Terry Newman, Ron Newman and T. R. Newman.

Mrs. Friedman, the former Evelyn Jewel Robertson, was born September 8, 1924, in Union County, SD, near Hawarden. She married Ray Friedman September 3, 1959, in Las Vegas, NV. The couple made their home in Sioux City until moving to Palm Beach in 1981.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Tom Dittmer of Lake Forest, IL; a stepdaughter, Lisette Ackerberg of Malibu, CA; a sister, Mrs. Ted (Irene) Newman of Greenville, KY; two grandchildren and three step grandchildren. A memorial has been established in her name to Neurosurgical Research Fund, in care of Refco, Inc. IL. W. Jackson Blvd., Chicago, IL. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Anthony and Paul Robertson.
