Mrs. Lowell Frederes Funeral on Friday
Mrs. Lowell Frederes, 23, of Omaha, formerly of Granville, died Tuesday, Dec. 27 at an Omaha hospital of a brief illness, after collapsing at her home. Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Granville.

She was a cardio-pulmonary technician at Emmanuel Hospital in Omaha. She was graduated from Spalding high school in Granville in 1972, and from the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls in 1976. The couple moved to Omaha in September of that year. Relatives from a distance attending the funeral of Mrs. Lowell Frederes on Friday were Denise Penning and Bob Ellis of Aurora, Colo., Bruce Penning of Cedar Rapids, Blanche Penning, Spencer, Mrs. Mary Counsell, and Mrs. N. McDonald of Yankton.

Services were at 10:30 a.m. Friday in St Joseph Catholic Church at Granville. The Rev., Edward Hoffmann officiated. Burial was in the parish cemetery, with the Fisch Funeral Home of Remsen in charge. Mrs. Frederes, the former Deborah Penning, was born July 7, 1954 at LeMars. She was married Sept 11, 1976 at Granville. She was a cardio-pulmonary technician at Emmanuel Hospital in Omaha. She was graduated from Spalding High School in Granville in 1972, and from the University of Northern Iowa at Cedar Falls in 1976. The couple moved to Omaha in September of that year. She was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters of Granville.

Survivors include the widower; her mother; Mrs. Wallace Shafer of Granville; four brothers, Bruce Penning of Cedar Rapids, and' Ted, Gene and David Penning, all at home, in Granville; two sisters, Miss Denise Penning of Denver, Colo., and Miss Blanche Penning of Spencer; and the maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Vosburg of Granville

Mrs. Lowell (Deborah) Frederes, 23, formerly of Granville, died unexpectedly Tuesday (Dec. 27, 1977) at Bishop Bergen Mercy hospital, Omaha. She had collapsed at her home in Omaha. Mrs. Frederes was employed as a cardio-pulmonary technician at Emanuel hospital, Omaha.

Deborah Penning was born July 7, 1954, in Le Mars, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Penning, Granville. She graduated in 1972 from Spalding high school, Granville, and in 1976 from the University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls. Her marriage to Lowell Frederes took place Sept. 11, 1976, at Granville.

The couple had lived in Omaha since. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic church, Granville, with Rev. Edward Hoffman officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery under the direction of the Fisch funeral home, Granville. Parish rosaries will be at 5 and 8:30 p.m. and the Ladies Catholic Order of Foresters rosary at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in Spalding hall, Granville.

Surviving are her husband Lowell, Omaha; her mother, Mrs. Wallace Shafer and stepfather Wallace Shafer, Granville; four brothers, Bruce, Cedar Rapids, and Ted, Gene and David, all of Granville; two sisters, Denise Penning, Denver, and Blanche Penning, Spencer, and maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Vosburg, Granville. She was preceded in death by her father and paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Penning.
