Sharla Renae Porter passed away on Oct. 12, 2016 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D. A memorial was held at Heritage Funeral Home on Monday Oct. 17, 2016.
Sharla was born in Sioux City, IA on Oct. 12, 1970. she grew up on a farm outside of Inwood, IA. She loved working with people. She worked as a Ward Secretary at both hospitals in Sioux Falls, Sioux Valley and Avera McKennan. Her passion was selling real estate in Colorado Springs, CO. where she won various awards for her work performance. Shar was a loving and caring mother to her three children. She will always be remember for her beautiful smile, fun personality, love of music and her dog Skittles.
Sharla is survived by her children, Taylor (Matt Camacho) Porter, Cole Porter, and Jordyn (Brian Janish) Porter; grandson, Graysen Janish; parents Glen and Donna Tilstra, ; Siblings, Deb (Norm) Vande Vegte, Brian (Michelle) Tilstra, and Lucinda (Scott) McGowan; 6 nephews, 1 niece and 1 great-niece. Other relatives include Sarah (ken) Jackson, Jim (Stacy) Pedersen, Angie (Marc) Talamantez.
Sharla was preceded ini death by siblings, Darwin Tilstra and Sharlot Tilstra; grandparents, Fred and Ecadina Tilstra, John and Jeanette Van Maanen; David Pedersen.
