Dr. Douglas Earle 1927-2016

Dr. Earle Douglas, age 89 of Rock Rapids formerly of Orange City, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 18, 2016 at the Rock Rapids Health Center.
Memorial service was held at the American Reformed Church in Orange City with private interment at West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City.
Earle Milton, was born on May 12, 1927 the son of Ottie W. and Mary Avis (Munnich) Douglas. He grew up on the family homestead that straddled the Montana and North Dakota border. He graduated from Livingston, Montana High School. He then attended Montana State University and Iowa State University. He also served as a hospital corpsman in the U.S. Navy near the end of World War II.
On June 13, 1954, he married Alice Mae Lantz in Stanton, Iowa. They made their home in Laurens, Iowa where he had his first veterinary practice, and then in Orange City Veterinary Clinic until his retirement.

Survivors include his five children and their spouses, Sara and David Kozeluh, of Arbor Vitae, Wisc; Dan and Wende Douglas of Storm Lake Iowa; Amy and Scott Sieperda of Rock Rapids; John and Jen Douglas of Lawrence KS; and Mark and Christi Douglas of Olathe KS; twelve grandchildren; one great-grandson; and a sister-in-law Betty Douglas.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his two sisters and their husbands, Olive and Lloyd Griffith and Dean and Chester Lazz; and four brothers and their wives, Homer and Eleanor Douglas, Morris and Cleone Douglas, Stine Douglas, and Nyle Douglas.
