Hawarden, Iowa ~ Mildred “Millie” Bultman, 87, of Hawarden, died on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at the Hillcrest Health Care Center in Hawarden.

Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 6, 2017 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, LCMS in Hawarden with Rev. Joshua Lowe officiating. Burial will follow in the Grace Hill Cemetery in Hawarden. Visitation will begin at noon Wednesday, with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Porter Funeral Home in Hawarden. Memorials may be directed to the Ladies Aid at Trinity Lutheran Church. Condolences may be sent to www.porterfuneralhomes.com.

Mildred Adell Bridgett Bultman was born August 5, 1929 in Sioux City, Iowa. She moved to Hawarden, Iowa living with a pastor and his family. Millie graduated from the Hawarden High School in 1947.

She married Donald Bultman on January 21, 1951 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hawarden. They lived in Alaska for 2 years while Don served in the military. They returned to Hawarden where they started farming. They retired from farming when they moved into Hawarden in 2003. Millie was employed at Coilcraft in Hawarden for 37 years.

She loved to crochet many afghans, as each family member has several. Millie was the best cook and loved to bake. Some of her favorites were fried chicken, Christmas cookies, chocolate sheet cake, and fudge nut bars. Her grandkids would always argue over them!

Millie was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, LCMS in Hawarden.

She is survived by her husband, Don; 3 sons, Kelly (Sherry) Bultman of Greeley, Colorado, Kent Bultman of West Des Moines, Iowa, and Kurt (Deb) Bultman of Hawarden; one daughter, Kristi (Pete) Kingma of Hawarden; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Millie was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Margaret and Mina; and a brother, Glen.
