Dick Schelling age 86 of Sioux Center, IA died Sunday June 11, 2017 at Sioux Center Health in Sioux Center, IA.
 
     Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday June 14, 2017 at First Reformed Church in Sioux Center, IA with Rev. Jamie Dykstra, officiating. Burial will follow in the Memory Gardens at Sioux Center, IA.
 
     Visitation will be Tuesday June 13th from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center.
 
     Dick Schelling was born February 3, 1931, on at farm near Sioux Center, IA, the son of Lane and Gertie (Bleyenberg) Schelling. Dick grew up at Sioux Center, IA where he attended country school. He was united in marriage to Theodora Van Batavia on July 25, 1950 on a farm near Hull, IA. They made their home near Ireton, IA and later moved to a farm east of Sioux Center. Later in life he was united in marriage to Marilou Hulstein on February 14, 2007 at Sioux Center and they made their home in Sioux Center, IA. From many years, Dick farmed and later he drove truck. He worked at Co-op and at Sioux Automation in Sioux Center. Dick enjoyed fishing and camping, playing cards and spending time with his family. He was a member of the First Reformed Church in Sioux Center.

     He is survived by his wife, Marilou Schelling of Sioux Center, IA; daughter, Gloria Hyronemus of Sioux City, IA; son, Darwin Schelling of Sioux Center, IA; three brothers, Cornie Schelling of Hawarden, IA; Arnie (Bev) Schelling of Sioux Center, IA and Bob (Margaret) Schelling of Orange City IA; nine grandchildren, Tiffany Prins (Clint Prossen) of Sioux City, IA; Monty (Jennifer) Prins of Sioux Center, IA; Nicole (Chris) Mohning of Jackson, MN; Chantelle Prins of Sioux City, IA; Josh Hyronemus of Denver, CO; Mandi (Dan) Wolfswinkle of Sioux Center, IA; Casey (Amy) Schelling of Hospers, IA; Colin Schelling (Haily Rusch) of Vermillion, SD and Sean Schelling of Sioux Center, IA; along with nineteen great grandchildren.

     Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Lane and Gertie; wife, Theodora; son, Glenn; sister, Henrietta Jacobs and two great grandchildren.
