LARRY HOOYER, 22, KILLED IN CAR ACCIDENT SATURDAY

Larry Hooyer, 22, son of Mr. and John Hooyer of north of Tyler, Minnesota, was killed in a car accident a few miles from his home Saturday evening.

According to the report received here Larry was enroute home at the time of the mishap and was attempting to back a snow drift with his car, when the vehicle skidded upon a snow bank and rolled. When the car hit on its side and top, the windshield popped and the vehicle was packed tightly with snow before it came to a halt.

Hooyer was believed to have died of a broken neck. Extracting him from the vehicle was a slow and difficult job due to the heavily packed snow around him.

Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Hooyer (Mrs. John Hooyer is the daughter of Mrs. William De Boer of Carmel) and two sisters; also his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Teunis Hooyer.

John Hooyer is a cousin of Albert, Marion and Don Broek of Sioux Center, also a cousin of Mrs. John Van Voorst and Mrs. Annie Feekes.
