Funeral services were held at Bethel Christian Reformed Church here at 1:30 P.M. Tuesday, September 19, for Mrs. Anne Hooyer, 82, longtime resident of Sioux Center Community, who died September 17.

Services were conducted by the Reverend Henry Vanden Heuvel and burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery there with Vander Ploeg's Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The former Anne Meendering was born to John Meendering and Gertrude Smeenk Meendering in The Netherland, May 26, 1890, and came to the United States at the age of eighteen. She was married to Teunis Hooyer on January 30, 1914 in Sioux Center.

To this union 11 children were born, 10 of whom survive. Mr. Hooyer died May 12, 1966.

Survivors include five sons - Marion of Quincy, Washington, Albert of Sioux Center, John of Arco, Minnesota, Henry of Sheldon and Tony of Sioux Center, five daughters - Henrietta Mrs. Harold Sealey of Vermilion, South Dakota, Emma, Mrs. Elmer Saarloos of Ellsworth, Minnesota, Esther Mrs. Raymond Vander Lugt of Hawarden, Anna Mae Reuter of Port Washington, New York and Evelyn, Mrs. Gerald Vreeman of Quincy, Washington; 55 grand children and 9 great-grand children.

One daughter, Gertrude preceded her in death on May 13, 1954

She was laid to rest at Sioux Center Memory Gardens.
